Privacy Policy
Last updated 21 October 2026
This policy explains what information Keeptake (“Keeptake”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use the Keeptake iPhone app and the keeptake.co website, why, and what choices you have. If anything here is unclear, write to support@n2labs.co.
The short version
- Your videos never leave your iPhone. Recording, transcription, editing, captions and export all happen on the device.
- To decide what to cut, the app sends our server only text and numbers: the transcript of what you said, its timestamps, and loudness, pitch and pace measurements.
- That text is processed by Anthropic’s Claude AI model to make the keep-or-cut decision. We keep the decisions, not the transcript.
- Your account runs on Supabase. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use advertising trackers.
- You can delete your account in the app at any time (You → Delete account).
1. What stays on your device
The following never leaves your iPhone and is never sent to us: your video and audio files, your camera and microphone recordings, your photo library, your projects and edits, and caption styling. Speech is transcribed by Apple’s on-device speech recognition (SpeechAnalyzer) built into iOS. Finished videos are saved to your Photos library only when you export them. Cuts stay on your iPhone until you delete them or delete the app.
2. What we collect
Account information
When you create an account we receive your email address and an account identifier. If you sign in with Apple or Google we receive the identifier and email address those services share with us (with Apple you can choose to hide your email; we then receive a private relay address), and, if you allow it, your name. For Sign in with Apple we also store a token that lets us revoke the connection when you delete your account. If you use email and password, your password is stored by Supabase in hashed form; we never see it.
Cut requests
Each time you cut a video, the app sends our server:
- the transcript of the video, split into phrases, with start and end times and the pause before each phrase;
- for each phrase, relative loudness and pitch, a pace label (slow, normal or fast) and whether it sounds emphasised;
- the language code and the length of the video.
Our server forwards this to Anthropic to get a keep-or-cut decision for every phrase and returns the decisions to your phone. We do not store the transcript text. We store a record of each cut: the language, the video length, the length kept, the number of phrases, the decisions (keep or cut, the reason such as “retake” or “filler”, and how many words were trimmed at each end), and the time of the request. We use these records to count your monthly edits, show you your monthly stats, and improve cut quality.
Plan and usage
Your plan, when your billing period started, and how many edits you have used in the current period.
Purchases
If you subscribe on our website, payment is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details and billing address directly; we never see your full card number. We receive and store your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, the plan and billing period, the subscription status, and trial and renewal dates, and Stripe tells us when a payment succeeds or fails. If you subscribe in the app, Apple handles payment and we receive confirmation of which plan you bought and when it renews or ends. If you use a creator or discount code, we record which code was used.
Support emails
If you email us, we keep the email and our reply so we can help you.
Website and waitlist
If you join the launch list on keeptake.co, we store your email address, your browser’s language setting and which form you used. We use it only to email you when Keeptake launches, and we delete the list after launch or sooner if you ask. The website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes standard request data such as IP address and browser type to serve and protect the site.
Analytics
The app does not contain third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. If we add product analytics in a future version, we will update this policy first, and those events will never include your transcripts or videos.
3. Why we use it
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (EEA/UK) |
|---|---|---|
| Run your account and sign-in | Account information | Performance of our contract with you |
| Decide what to cut | Cut requests | Performance of our contract with you |
| Enforce plan limits and show your stats | Cut records, plan and usage | Performance of our contract with you |

| Answer support requests | Support emails | Our legitimate interest in helping you |
| Send the launch email | Waitlist email | Your consent, which you can withdraw any time |
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Who processes it for us
We use a small number of service providers, each bound by a data processing agreement and allowed to use the data only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase (database, authentication and server functions), hosted in the United States (AWS us-east-1).
- Anthropic (the Claude AI model that makes cut decisions). Anthropic receives the cut request text described above. Under its commercial terms it does not use our API data to train its models and keeps it only for a limited period for safety and abuse monitoring.
- Stripe (payments and billing for website subscriptions). Stripe acts as an independent controller for some payment data, such as fraud prevention; see stripe.com/privacy.
- Apple and Google, if you choose to sign in with them, and Apple for App Store purchases.
- Vercel (website hosting).
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your data.
5. International transfers
Our servers and providers are located in the United States. When we transfer personal data from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK addendum) or another lawful transfer mechanism.
6. How long we keep it
- Account information, plan, usage and cut records: for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, they are deleted immediately from our live database and disappear from backups within 30 days.
- Cut request text: not stored by us. It exists only while the request is processed, and at Anthropic for its limited retention period.
- Support emails: up to 2 years after the conversation ends.
- Waitlist emails: until we send the launch email, then deleted.
- Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
7. Your choices and rights
You can delete your account in the app under You → Delete account. This removes your account and all associated records and revokes Sign in with Apple. It does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel that in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or US state laws such as the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, email support@n2labs.co from the address on your account. We will answer within 30 days and will not treat you differently for using your rights. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Database tables are protected so each account can read only its own records, and our AI provider key never ships in the app. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we collect small so there is little to lose.
9. Children
Keeptake is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. In the EEA and UK, users under 16 need permission from a parent or guardian. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
